Love and Belonging

Sometimes when I'm sad, I voice record myself reciting passages that I want to remember or have a strong hold on me. If I'm in the grocery store, or in the car or on the train and I need reminding or to feel soothed, I listen to the words I hold important and meaningful. Brene Brown’s TED talk about vulnerability, love and belonging was one that made a deep impression and I thought a lot about. I sent this to my friend Mash before he left for Japan and months later, he used it for a school project. It’s a little embarrassing to hear my voice because I recorded this sometime last year after drinking two glasses of wine, and after I cried while listening to the traffic outside my bedroom window. I think it was sometime in late Spring.
